Student Internship

In collaboration with the faculty and staff of The University of Alabama Museums Research and Collections (UAMRC), students will work on curatorial and collections-based projects. The UAMRC oversees the management and curation of the Alabama Museum of Natural History (ALMNH) collections and develops interdisciplinary programs focusing on museum-based research. The ALMNH collections include more than five million objects, specimens, and artifacts from academic fields in entomology, invertebrate zoology, vertebrate zoology, paleontology, geology, history, archaeology, and many others. Student internship projects are wide ranging and may include object inventory, data entry, cataloging, object-based research, online and digital exhibitions, photography and digitization, and others depending on a collection's and curator's needs.

Internship Requirements: an interest in museum studies, curations and collections practices, object-based research and care, and data management.
