Student Opportunities in UA Museums' Marketing

Digital Marketing

The University of Alabama Museums aims to generate brand awareness to increase visitation to our spaces, participation in events, and memberships. Interns in this position will work with the UA Museums' Communications Specialist to create social media content, send email newsletters, write press releases, and update websites and online calendars.

Internships Requirements: an interest in marketing and communications, ability to identify social media trends, ability to prioritize and multitask, knowledge of social media trends and best practices, creative and visual thinking skills, strong writing and communication skills, WordPress experience is a plus, Graphic Design (in Canva) is a plus, and video editing experience is a plus.

Video Editing

The University of Alabama Museums creates short-form and long-form video content to promote our museums and research. Interns in this position will work with the UA Museums' Communications Specialist to organize video files, edit video with Adobe Premiere Pro, and write YouTube descriptions and social media captions.

Internship Requirements: knowledge and experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, interest in video editing and storytelling, ability to prioritize and multitask, creative and visual thinking skills, and strong video editing and storytelling skills.
