Social Media Intern

The social media team of the Division of Strategic Communications is looking for a creative and innovative social media intern to assist the team with content creation. This is an exciting opportunity to make an immediate impact and see your content published on social media channels that reach thousands of people daily.

In this position, the Social Media Intern will be an ambassador for The University of Alabama’s institutional social media accounts and must be willing to make occasional on-camera appearances for published content. This intern will assist the social media team with creating content for TikTok and other various platforms. Ideal candidates for our Social Media Internship should have in-depth knowledge of social media platforms and demonstrated ability to create content specific to the different platforms.

There are two positions available and the positions will remain open until filled. The required commitment is at least 10 hours per week for each of the two interns. The positions are open to undergraduate, graduate and work study students. All candidates must be enrolled in a UA degree program. Undergraduates must be enrolled in at least six credit hours during fall and spring, and graduate students must be enrolled in at least 4.5 credit hours during fall and spring.

Skills & qualifications

Impeccable oral and communication skills.

Understanding of the major social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X.

Demonstrated ability to keep up with social media trends

Knowledge of photography, and shooting and editing video with a mobile device
