Admission Requirements for Transfer Students

  • 2.0 overall college GPA
  • 24 transferable semester hours (excluding technical, remedial and vocational courses)*
  • *If you're currently a freshman or have fewer than the required transferable hours, additional high school records will be required, including a high school transcript.

    Transfer Scholarships

    UA awards scholarships in two broad categories: automatic merit and competitive.

    Automatic scholarships are awarded upon admission to students who meet the stated scholarship requirements and deadlines.

    Weeks of Welcome

    UA hosts Weeks of Welcome to help you find community quickly after arriving on campus. Over your first two weeks of classes there are numerous events including Get On Board Day (this is your time to sign up for one of those 600 clubs!), shows, concerts, service activities and more!

    Intercultural Diversity Center

    The Intercultural Diversity Center (IDC) offers students an avenue for cultural exploration, educational engagement and social enrichment. Events are hosted throughout each semester, and students can be involved as participants or volunteers.

    Sweet Home Tuscaloosa

    A city of 100,000 people, Tuscaloosa is situated along the banks of the Black Warrior River in west-central Alabama. Close proximity to the Black Warrior, Lake Tuscaloosa and other waterways offers unlimited opportunities for boating, fishing and water sports. Students can explore hidden gems spanning a wide range of cuisine and activities. Local restaurants offer everything from barbecue to farm-to-table dining, and venues host up-and-coming bands as well as some of the nation's biggest acts.
